Into the center of the circle
Orpheus Peretzis’ Documentary
"In the center of the circle" - A documentary by Orpheas Perezis The documentary was filmed during a period of seven years starting in September 2007 until October 2015. During the time of the economical crisis, director Orpheas Perezis follwed with his camera the 35 members of the theatrical group "RODA", behind the scenes during summer performances in open theaters, but also during personal moments of the members off the stage. It is worth mentioning that none of the members of the group are professional actors and the theater is, for many people, a way to reach their character limits. As the director mentioned during the shiwing of the documentary in the Film Festival of Thessaloniki, he wanted to record everything he experienced in that group during those years. In the center lies the inner search of the members of " RODA" via the theater and the ecstasy created behind the scenes and on the stage during each performance. The documentary honours the power of the theater and how it can affect someone whi hopes to achieve something superior through art. In the meantime the written experiences of tje members which are presented in this documentary are a rare recording of a spiritual search in practical terms, all the while starting a conversation with philosophy, psychology and esotericism.

Saxophonist Wolfgang Fuhr is living in the South of Germany and has been working with many Jazz Musicians all around Europe since his debut-album „Song of India“ in 1995.
He played with jazz legends like Lee Konitz, Joe Gallardo or Charly Antolini and the young German Jazz-elite like Till Brönner, Nils Wogram or Pablo Held and is regularly invited as a guest at national and international Jazz-Festivals. With his „TRIO 120“ he demonstrates the ability to internalize American Jazz without forgetting the European idiom. The TRIOs CD „ARAM“ awarded best Jazz-CD of the year in German broadcast. Recording the CD “Earth Talk” with Portuguese guitar player Pedro Madaleno, they played this music on festivals in Portugal and Germany and the cd was awarded the „Portuguese Jazz-CD of the year“! Being a composer, too, Wolfgang writes the music for his own groups and does regularly recordings in cooperation with the big radiostations in Germany and even writes for classical orchestras. Wolfgang can be heard on many CDs with formations reaching from Trio to BigBand. Within his own projects he always works in quest of an individual and original jazz language – in deep respect for the jazz tradition. As the owner of the record-label Fuhrwerk-Musik he produces artists, who also believe in the freedom of their music and express themselves in a personal way. Through his unique style, Wolfgang emphasizes the level of importance the saxophone has achieved in Jazz. His range of expression is seemingly as limitless as his palette of sophisticated sounds. |
